Did you know that numbers are like steps on a ladder? When you count up to 10, each number is a little higher than the one before it. The number 10 is higher than the number 9. The number 7 is higher than the number 6. Do you think the number 6 is higher than the number 5? It is! The number 6 is higher than the number 5. The number 5 is lower than the number 6. If you step down, on a ladder you get lower. If you count down each number gets a little lower. The number 6 is lower than the number 7.
