    Final Preparations Under Way for Space Elevator Games at Dryden

    Set-up and systems testing are under way Tuesday for Spaceward Foundation's Space Elevator Games scheduled for this Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 4-5, at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base. Three competing teams in the Space Elevator Power-Beaming Challenge will be using a high-powered laser to propel their robotic climbers up a 1-kilometer long cable suspended from a helicopter.

    The Space Elevator Games are sponsored by NASA's Centennial Challenges technology development program, which is providing the prize purse for the event.
