  • Expendable Launch Vehicle Status Report

    06.23.09 - At Complex 41 on June 18, LRO/LCROSS was launched successfully by the Atlas V rocket. Liftoff was at 5:32:00.1 p.m. EDT.

    06.12.09 - The Flight Readiness Review for LRO/LCROSS was held on June 10, and at its conclusion, there were no issues or concerns which would preclude a launch next week on June 17.

    06.05.09 - At Launch Complex 41 on June 1, the integrated systems test, an electrical test between the LRO/LCROSS spacecraft and the Atlas V launch vehicle, was completed successfully.

    05.08.09 - The GOES-O launch aboard a Delta IV rocket from Space Launch Complex 37 currently is scheduled for no earlier than June 26.

    05.01.09 - At the Astrotech Space Operations Facility, the GOES-O spacecraft is enclosed in the payload fairing. The spacecraft remains in excellent health and is ready to be moved to the launch pad once a launch date has been determined.

    04.24.09 - The GOES-O launch aboard a Delta IV rocket from Space Launch Complex 37 currently is scheduled for no earlier than May 20.

    04.17.09 - Processing continues at Launch Complex 37 for the GOES-O launch. Troubleshooting on the Delta IV rocket after last week's wet dress rehearsal and tanking test revealed a leak in a fitting in the first stage liquid oxygen vent system.

    04.10.09 - At Launch Complex 37, the Delta IV "wet dress rehearsal," a countdown dress rehearsal with the rocket fully fueled, was conducted on April 8 in preparations to launch the GOES-O spacecraft.

    03.13.09 - The Kepler telescope was launched on March 6, 2009, at 10:49:57.465 p.m. EST. The spacecraft was acquired by the Deep Space Network's Goldstone tracking station in California at 12:11 a.m. on March 7.

    02.27.09 - Engineers are reviewing hardware on the Taurus launch vehicle for commonality with the Delta II rocket carrying the Kepler telescope.

    01.16.09 - In the early morning hours of Jan. 15, the NOAA-N Prime spacecraft was transported from the Building 1610 payload processing facility to Space Launch Complex 2.

    01.06.09 - Testing has been successfully completed on the solar array harness of NOAA-N Prime. Though no fault indications in the harness were found, two wires were disconnected to remove a possible "sneak circuit" electrical path.
