Aluminum Adapter Ring Inspection

David Osborne, a machinist in the Space Systems Department - Mechanical Fabrication Branch at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., takes a close look at a recent cut on an aluminum adapter ring which shares the design of adapters to be used on the first flight test of the Orion spacecraft in 2014. The blue, seven-axis milling tool at left is the largest of its kind in the world.
