Goddard Memorial Trophy to the 1990 winner Dr. Lew Allen, Director of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., and Vice President of the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Allen received the 1990 award "For distinguished and significant contributions to the Nation's advancement in space, earlier by service with the Air Force and the strategic defense of the country, and currently by leadership with NASA in the assurance of United States preeminence in planetary exploration." The Goddard Trophy, premier award of the National Space Club and the aerospace industry, was established in 1958 and is presented each year at the Goddard Memorial Dinner.
