Truly today announced the selection of Darleen A. Druyun as the Assistant Administrator for the Office of Procurement. She will succeed Admiral Stuart J. Evans who recently retired after having served in this position for approximately 15 years. Druyun currently is the Principal Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Contracting, Headquarters Air Force Systems Command, Andrews Air Force Base, Md., a position she has held since 1985. She has held various procurement positions in the government since 1970 during which time she gained professional recognition as an innovator and pioneer in many aspects of procurement policy and processes. She is the highest ranking woman career executive in Air Force contracting. A graduate of the University of Chaminade, Honolulu, Hawaii, and the recipient of a master's degree from the University of Kentucky, Druyun is a member of the Board of Advisors of the National Contract Management Association. She is the recipient of the Presidential Rank Awards of Distinguished Executive (1990) and Meritorious Executive (1988), among numerous other recognitions. In announcing the selection, Administrator Truly stated, "NASA is indeed fortunate to have Darleen Druyun join us as a member of our team.
