The toll free number is: 877/470-5240
This replaces a 256 area code number previously released. NASA has established a public Web site to convey important contact information to NASA employees and contractors impacted by Katrina and for general public information at:

Stennis Space Center (SSC):
- The runway is open and NASA is coordinating flying in relief materials for SSC and Michoud
- Portable generators are functioning, and more generators are being sent from other NASA centers
- Approximately 1,000 people, including NASA employees, contractors and the public are at the center
- Since SSC is serving as an emergency safe haven, NASA is coordinating with relief agencies, like the American Red Cross, to help people sheltering there
- NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Ala., sent roofing materials and tarps today for use on damaged Stennis and Michoud buildings
- SSC is compiling a list of all the people sheltering there
Michoud Assembly Facility:
- Inflatable camp beds are being shipped to the center
- Food and medical supplies are being delivered as needed
- Facility access remains by helicopter or boat since the surrounding roadways are flooded or damaged. The docks at Michoud are operational
