TRT 48:00 ----- ITEM 1 - FRUIT FLY EXPERIMENTS ON BOARD THE SHUTTLE Video of a colony of 30 thousand genetically engineered fruit flies aboard STS-93 (the current space shuttle mission). The flies are there so scientists can see study how microgravity and spaceflight affect the developing nervous system , specifically the nerves that control movement.
