From Nov. 1 to 3 NASA will display the best new inventions from America's chief research and development laboratories at the Miami Beach Fontainebleau Hilton. The inventions provide a wealth of new business ideas and ready-made solutions to companies experiencing engineering problems. NASA is also presenting the first-ever forum on emerging commercial opportunities in aerospace and aviation. At the opening session on Nov. 1, Gen. Spence Armstrong, NASA's Associate Administrator for Aero-Space Technology, will discuss NASA's strategic plan and technologies. Dr. Robert Norwood, Director of Commercial Technology, will give an overview of NASA's commercial technology network and doing business with NASA. Also on Nov.1, a panel of engineers and physicians will discuss the contributions NASA has made to medicine. NASA research and development programs have offered the medical industry opportunities to develop new, innovative health care products, such as heart pace makers, artificial hearts, computer- aided tomography and magnetic resonance imaging scanners.
