(Phone: 661/276-3449) NOTE TO EDITORS: N01-10 IMPORTANT PRESS CREDENTIAL INFORMATION FOR STS-109 Members of the news media planning to cover the Space Shuttle Columbia's mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope during STS-109 should expect, and plan for, changes in credential and escort procedures at NASA field centers, including the Kennedy Space Center, Fla., the Johnson Space Center in Houston, and the Dryden Flight Research Center, Calif. Media wishing to cover the launch, mission and landing should contact each NASA center newsroom for specific application and escort procedures. U.S. press should submit coverage requests well in advance of the scheduled launch date, but no later than the day before launch, which currently is scheduled for Feb. 28. Members of the foreign media, including U.S. free-lance media supporting an international press organization, must submit STS-109 launch coverage credential requests in writing a minimum of two weeks prior to the scheduled launch. The deadline for foreign press credential applications is Feb. 14. Any requests by international press after that date will be declined. -end-
