Astronauts Evaluate Procedures for Spacewalk

JSC2012-E-211701 (31 Aug. 2012) --- In a training facility at the Johnson Space Center, from left to right, NASA astronauts Steve Bowen, Andrew Feustel and David Wolf put their heads together as they evaluate in Earth's gravity environment some procedures for a possible zero-gravity space walk in the near future. The "real" exercises would be conducted by the Expedition 32 crew members aboard the International Space Station. Personnel from JSC’s Mission Operations Directorate along with a handful of astronauts and engineers spent a good part of the afternoon on Aug. 31 evaluating the procedures. The need for a follow-up session of extravehicular activity eventuated when the two space walkers from Expedition 32 were unable to complete all their objectives on an Aug. 30 space walk.
