Hubble Transits Across the Sun with Venus

In the middle of the Venus transit, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) also transited the Sun taking approximately 0.9 seconds to complete its transit. The nine tiny circled features in this photo are HST. These images were taken by amateur solar photographer Thierry Legault from Queensland in north-east Australia. His Nikon D4 was working at 10 fps on a Takahashi FSQ-106ED telescope when it recorded these 9 images of HST. The Venus transit is shown at the bottom of the Sun due to this image coming from a telescope which flips images viewed. Image courtesy of Thierry Lagault.
