NASA's NSTAR X-ray observatory will study black holes, the remains of exploded stars and other high-energy, cosmic objects. This animation depicts NuSTAR in space, as it orbits around Earth's equator.
About 7 days after launch, the observatory's 33-foot (10-meter) mast will deploy, spearating the mirrors from the detectors and allowing the telescope to focus X-ray light into sharp images.
