Flora Caloway: "The shuttle program presented a challenge, because it had to be controlled during ascent and during landing. So we had to develop software on board that would process all of the navigation aids. We had to develop ground software that would process all of the tracking data and the telemetry and compare it. And we had to learn how to work in mission control, so that we could update any discrepancies on board with the navigation. So, basically that's where I was from the beginning."
