1st Place – Shiloh SchatzkamerBecause It Flew (BIF) Art Competition, was a collaboration between NASA’s Teaching from Space Office, the National Institute for Aerospace, and USA Today Education. Middle and high school students from across the US commemorated the Space Shuttle Program legacy by creating unique artwork illustrating the Shuttle’s accomplishments in space and on Earth.
BIF was a free innovative educational program that introduced kids to the impact of the NASA Space Shuttle Program. It was designed as an engaging and informative project that commemorates the Shuttle program and the lasting value of scientific discoveries and technological advances that emerged Because It Flew.
